Looks like things are moving forward for Ip Man 3.
Donnie Yen has said he will do a 3rd installment, it will be Directed by Wilson Yip and written by Edmond Wong, the movie will be shot in 3D with around a budget of $36m.
The film will focus on Ip Man’s relationship with Bruce Lee as the 2nd film ended with a child entering the school where Ip Man is teaching.
The producers have started the search for an actor to play the adult Bruce Lee. Lynn Hung, who appeared in the first two ‘Ip Man’ films, will star again, and the producers are also in talks with Simon Yam. No word on Sammo Hung
My Take: Cant wait ..I’m pretty pumped for this news. Sad thing is it probably wont hit the states in 3 years or so or more…I’m sad on that fact. I Hope they can do a release in the states around the time it releases in China….Also I hope they get some one that fits Bruce Lee…the kid in Ip Man 2 was perfect even though he was in it for 3 seconds.
