My Thoughts

Call of Heroes is a Stand up for what is right Action Drama. A Father planes of taking vengeance on everyone and will kill all if they don’t let his Murderous son out of Prison. Are heroes don’t take that to kindly after men start killing folks in town as they stand ground and plane on protecting and holding those accountable all while the son is just Laughing in up behind the bars sitting behind.

The story is a good follow as it holds down a western vibe with Wuxa tangled within. This is an action film but the story doesn’t just dive into fighting as we get a decent deep drama and heart. Action wise the film was fun with at time over the top Wuxa where a guy goes flying in the are more than they should be. We do have some CGI and it looks good at times but some times it will hurt at least to me as I like realistic visuals. Acting was good as we have a great cast, all A-list actioneers who all star in great films. Sammo Hung Takes the spot as Action Director which helps out a lot with making it look good. On top of it all we have a great looking Picture on Blu-Ray. Prob the best if seen so far when it comes to Asian Action films and it holds its own with the likes of great looking Pixar films.

Overall the film was a good watch a tad slow at times but at times the film can get brutal but wish we had more. Action some comedy and drama is what makes the film enjoyable. I would love to see more feeling as giving the viewers a deeper feeling during sad portions of the film. They did do a good job on making me hate the bad guy.

With that said I give a Call of Heroes a 4 out of 5. Love Asian Action with a good story with Sammo Hung Behind the Camera than you should pick this up.

Note: I Know my speakers are way outdated. OPPO Blu-Ray Player is one of the best around and used in most home theaters. The Receiver is pretty good but on the line of out dated. Subwoofer is good with tons of bass but not the theater quality from a $400 Sub. Front speakers are fun with tons of power and are good for standalone’s but higher end sound (Hz) is lower quality. Overall I need to update on all speakers granted I do get decent sound out of them just the higher end falls short.
