My Review:

Cold War 2 is a Crime thriller dealing with The Hong Kong Police and an organization that wants to take over. The film hovers on mystery with a few turns, backstabbing’s and action wise the film was fun but the action scenes were minimal. Now this is a squeal to Cold War which I have not seen and from reviews it looks like to some the Second movie is better.

Cold War 2 brings in Chow Yun-fat whom has a small role or I should say he doesn’t have a ton of on camera time, Aron Kwok playing the lead, a commissioner of the police whom is targeted by this other group filled with ex police. Missing from this film is Andy Lau whom played a guest star in the first film. The Blu-Ray Picture Quality is top Notch every pore visible Vivid color deep Black goodness and the same can be said with the way the film sounds.

Overall the film was a decent watch, just don’t go in thinking about a ton of action. What we get is a few chase scenes and some gun battles. The film is more on the Crime drama side filled with some mystery. The story was good as it did keep me interested even though I did not see the first. For me I feel the first film would be needed to get more of the character building. But even thought I didn’t see the first, Cold War 2 still hit some marks.

With that said I give Cold War 2 a 3.5 out of 5 and maybe would get more if I have seen the first film. Give it a shot but before hand check out the first film on DVD. The Blu-Ray can be imported.
