My Thoughts

The Pirates is an Action adventure film with a good dose of Comedy that I really liked and felt that all its comedic portions help make this movie even more enjoyable. Of course all the other elements like the action, explosions, and storyline helps play a role in how fun the film is too. The CGI used is probably the best I’ve seen in a South Koran film to this date but still portions of it could use some help, but most of it does look good. The story has some great moments Especially in the first 5 minutes where Something happens you went expecting. I also have to say The Blu-Ray Copy is just about spot on as in PQ as it looks pretty good as Noted in the PQ Rating, so as the movie was fun to watch it was also good to look at

The Good: Action: The Action Was fun with same had to hand combat but mostly swords and rope swinging. Story: The Story has fun and a refreshing look on Asian Cinema. Comedy: I Have to say the movie had me lol throughout the film, there was not 1 comedic hit in the story that I didn’t like.

The Bad: Not so bad but CGI needs a Little more work but overall looks pretty good at most times. The Story could use a some work in explaining more details about main Characters and how a certain character comes back to life after you think he has died. Could use More Action.

Overall the film was pretty fun with great comedy and action to rope swinging sword battles to whale hunting, boat crashing and some characters not know what a whale looks like to a Pirate that gets seasick. I feel the film should be added into your collection. I give The Pirates a 4 out of 5, Get Your Action Adventure on in Blu-Ray.

Note: I Know my speakers are way outdated. OPPO Blu-Ray Player is one of the best around and used in most home theaters. The Receiver is pretty good but on the line of out dated. Subwoofer is good with tons of bass but not the theater quality from a $400 Sub. Front speakers are fun with tons of power and are good for standalone’s but higher end sound (Hz) is lower quality. Overall I need to update on all speakers granted I do get decent sound out of them just the higher end falls short.
