My Thoughts

Estranged is a psychological thriller horror with mystery and a great gory ending I was waiting for. The Horror side of things is the overall tone of the film as its dark and gritty like it could be a Ghost story but it’s not. The Mystery and thriller portions kick in when a Psycho Family gets involved as the plot turns you in a few directions and makes you think while you r take the ride through the film.

The film is dark and gritty with a Nice backdrop of an old mansion that houses a family that just doesn’t seem right when the leading lady enters the picture with amnesia. The mystery kicks in as you try figure out whats going on along with January are leading Lady. The family seemed off as we try to find out why she left the house in the first place to get away.

Not going in to more details and I have to say it was a great view. Not scary but dark, gritty with elements of beauty that makes the film even more crazy. An hour in is when the whole script gets flipped and we find out what the hell is up with these people and the ended turns out to be gory and I have to say I was waiting for it. When it hit I was happy because if I didn’t see a whole being blown out of the back of someones head I would have been disappointed.

Overall the film is Was a fun watch. Creepy story-line and even at the end every one even January is just crazy. If you’re looking for a dark creepy film that hits with a good gore ending twisted in mystery then pick this up and check it out.

With that said I give the film a 4 out of 5. Add a boob or two, more dirt and grit, make the twists deeper, add some scary elements and we would have had a crazier ride. But hey it’s still a good film, Check it out.

Note: I Know my speakers are way outdated. OPPO Blu-Ray Player is one of the best around and used in most home theaters. The Receiver is pretty good but on the line of out dated. Subwoofer is good with tons of bass but not the theater quality from a $400 Sub. Front speakers are fun with tons of power and are good for standalone’s but higher end sound (Hz) is lower quality. Overall I need to update on all speakers granted I do get decent sound out of them just the higher end falls short.
