About:

HE WHO WALKS BEHIND THE ROWS

From the mind of celebrated horror author Stephen King, the man behind such classic terror tales as The Shining, Carrie and It, comes one of his most chilling offerings yet Children of the Corn.

A young couple on a road trip find themselves lost in the backroads of rural Nebraska, eventually winding up in the seemingly abandoned town of Gatlin. But the town is far from empty as the pair soon discover, it s inhabited by a twisted cult of murderous children thirsty for another blood sacrifice…

Adapted from King s eponymous short story first published in 1977 and starring Linda Hamilton (The Terminator) and Peter Horton (thirtysomething), Children of the Corn has gone on to spawn one of the most enduring horror franchises of all time.

My Review:

Children of the Corn is a Classic Horror film with the story written by Stephen King. The film is set in a town where all The Adults were murdered by kids and lead by a Child named Issac Whom talks to a demon. I Young couple end up in town after running over a child. They set out to find out where they can make contact with an adult to help them out. They find out the town is run by kids whom kill Adults.

The Story in the film was OK, it is classic film that as some not liking it but I see a lot of love for the film. Yes it can get slow or cheesy at a time but we get some nice gore and a good Score throughout. The acting was good and stars T2 fame Linda Hamilton. For me the film was fun as I have childhood memory’s but now after viewing as an older person, I do wish we could have a few more things. I wish it was more scary. Make the Issac more scary and show us more of Issac possessed by the demon at the end. More gore would be nice too. Creepier and more corn field scenes at night.

Overall the film was a fun watch. It might be a lower score view for newer viewers but for us 80’s babies, 90’s kids the film is still a good one to own. It holds up but not fully, It’s a classic and for me the score stands out the most. Looks great on Blu-Ray thanks to Arrow Video so that is a big plus.

With that said I give this film a 3.5 out of 5. Perhaps it was more of a 4 star film for me back in the day but now it feels like it has dropped some thinks to fresher horror films. I Can see a Remake working for this making it more creepy and scary but I do feel if it did happen we would lose some gore factor even though I would love to see more. Go pick it up
