My Thoughts |
Killbillies is a Hills Have Eyes meets House of a 1000 Corpses Hillbilly Slasher type of film. We start out with are led at a bar hanging with friends and getting a little tipsy but then gets assaulted by a drunk guy who we may see again at the end but mostly doesn’t play a part in it that much. Are female lead has a gig, A Modeling job which she does on the side. Her Photographer and another model who doesn’t want to stop talking are meeting the make up artist at location in the middle of Nowhere. Before thew shoot can begin they are visited by two Hillbillies who abducts the bunch. They Make Alcoholic Drinks out of those who stop by, Who Survives? Who Dies?
The story is a Good Follow as it does resemble a few films we have seen before but still adding their own twists to it. Acting was decent and gore was great. Lots of Blood mangled faces and kill scenes that use realistic techniques to pull of and not the fake CGI Look.. One Thing I wish we had was more grit, mystery and more gore as it was fun to see. Maybe some Nudity and more Hillbillies so we can see more deformity. The Ending may or may not hurt your feelings but its a different twist on it a film like this.
Overall I Did enjoy the watch. Yes its a film we have to read subtitles but it’s still a fun viewing. Somethings could have been changed and added for a better viewing but as is, its worth a checking out. Give it a shot. Only on DVD the Quality still looks pretty good thinks to great editing and good camera work. This Low Budget film gives off as it may have had more money to spend to give it a more of a Movie feel.
With that said I give this film a 4 out of 5. Not scary but for me at this time it hit the spot and was a fun viewing. Give it a Pick up.
