Audio Audio Language: English – Dubbed: French Over all the sound is good deep during gun shots and thanks to the score of the film that has a lot of music, you can hear the highs and lows constantly. Vocals seem on point. Rating: |

My Thoughts |
–
Swelter is an action crime film with a taste of the west. For me the film was a good watch but not what it could have been. When it gets about an hour in some scene to scene shots were out-of-place, meaning, one scene the main leads girlfriend is at her house having an argument with a bad guy …she may or may not know, next scene cuts to another portion of story and then when we get back to the chick, she is driving up to a car parked in the middle of nowhere asking the kid inside where her daughter was. That was a long sentence. The story was fun and some of the shoot out comes down out like a western dual, a one on one quick draw.
The good – Gun fights are cool, slow story but I feel it was good, acting was good as he film had a good cast. Female cast is hot, like the western vibe of the film.
The Bad – Van Damme isn’t lead and is only in a few scenes, the story gets slow, not liking the effects used during flash backs, Some scenes are rushed and or skips story.
Overall the film was a good watch for me, it was a little let down when Van Damme wasn’t the lead and was barely in it, also his acting isn’t good in this one . Don t let that bring you down as Lennie James does a great job caring the film. The film for me sits in the middle, bring in more action, fix the scenes that are rushed and or skipped, take back flash effects out, throw in some boobs…..come on we need something to counter balance the man ass I had to see at the beginning, haha and put van dam in the background of the DVD cover and throw the lead actor where he belongs….out front.
With that said I give swelter a 2.5 out of 5 and maybe on a better day a 3. Van Damme fans will be disappointed, so now go in knowing he is not leading and enjoy the film more, give a rent first, try it out.
