My Thoughts

Tales of Poe is a Horror Film dealing with three stories Based off of Edgar Allan Poe. The First Story deals with a Crazy female telling her story to another in side of a Mental Hospital, Explaining how crazy she is. The Story deals with Murder and how mentally ill she is. The second story deals with an older couple who was just hitched but it turns out she was slowly killing her husband with poison so she can gain the riches. Little did she know the dead was apple to come back. The Last story deals with a Lady on her death-bed. We follow her into her dreams of confusion and weirdness and at times freaky and filled with horror as she slowly leaves her place on earth.

The stories were a pretty fun watch. The first two films get gory with the first is a tongue ripping gory time and the other some one gets burned alive. The 3rd film gets heavy in the visuals and artistic side of things leaving the viewer following visions in a dream that keeps moving to another as her brain is slowly shutting down. The story can be dark but overall they are worth the viewing. The PQ and SQ are good for DVD as the Picture Quality is pretty sharp.

Overall I enjoyed the film and all three of the stories told. If you like Short story’s in visual format from the Mind of Edgar Allen Poe then you should like this. Go pick it up

With that said I give this film a 3.5 out of 5. Not a classic but enjoyable with a few things that could use some work. Low budget but still brings the story. Give it a shot.

Note: I Know my speakers are way outdated. OPPO Blu-Ray Player is one of the best around and used in most home theaters. The Receiver is pretty good but on the line of out dated. Subwoofer is good with tons of bass but not the theater quality from a $400 Sub. Front speakers are fun with tons of power and are good for standalone’s but higher end sound (Hz) is lower quality. Overall I need to update on all speakers granted I do get decent sound out of them just the higher end falls short.
