Eastern Bandits is the heroic story of rebels with a fortune to gain, and everything to lose.

Leader Fang Youwang, with his compatriots Kuei, San Pao, and Lady Dagger – lead a posse of roving bandits that are fearless, enterprising, and loyal to the death.

Their baby-faced masks make them terrifying; their underground lair untraceable.

And now, they’re plotting a double-scam – a heroic rescue and a kidnapping mission – that will make them legends…if anyone gets out alive. – Well Go USA

Audio Language: Mandarin
Subtitles: English

over all the sound was great. Gun shots on the low end were deep and crisp. No dubbing so the voices fit and sounding great.

Picture Quality

Disc Format: Blu-Ray

The Picture Quality was good. Sharp images, blacks are deep but grainy like the PQ and colors pop but not vividly due to the tone of the film. Most of the time scenes were dusty as they were in a desert like environment. Close ups were great and sharp.Over all Tone was gritty but still good to look at. Subtitles are crispy

My Thoughts

Eastern Bandits is a decent watch dealing with bandits, some political issues, kidnapping and stealing. Although there wasn’t a lot of those things…no big heist on goods, and only a hand full of kidnappings with one being a twist in the plot.

The good: The ending was the best part with tons of action via guns and explosions. One of the actresses is pretty hot (Xinyi Zhang -Plays Jen) and overall fun film.

The Bad: Felt to slow with no middle of the plot. Some plot holes…but most movies have those. Not a ton of action, not witty enough and not much comedy, Oh and not enough stealing of things. I fell these things could help the film more.

Overall Eastern Bandits is a Mediocre film for me that was a fun watch at times and the ending was filled with great fun with some gore. Its slow at parts and I wish there were more planing and stealing of things as the whole movie is centered on bandits. Actors were great to see and fit the roles well but the film needs more filler.

With that said I rate the film a 3 out of 5 looks and sounds good on Blu-Ray and I feel you may like the film but don’t expect the film to be on the level of The Thieves which is another Well Go USA film that is a great film.

Note: I Know my speakers are way outdated. OPPO Blu-Ray Player is one of the best around and used in most home theaters. The Receiver is pretty good but on the line of out dated. Subwoofer is good with tons of bass but not the theater quality from a $400 Sub. Front speakers are fun with tons of power and are good for standalones but higher end sound (Hz) is lower quality. Overall I need to update on all speakers granted I do get decent sound out of them just the higher end falls short.
