My Review:

Furious is a Russian Mid 13th Century Battle Film that revolves around a guy who defends an attack by Batu Khan and his Mongolian army. Since are lead was a kid he wanted to Be a warrior, a guy who can handle two swords. While showing off to the king and a few soldiers a group lead by a ball chain throwing guy kills off everyone including the kid who tried to fight alongside the king…so he thought. Years later the kid turns into a man and is still breathing but every time he wakes up he forgets what is going on and still thinks he is that same kid. Now the Mongols are bigger and stronger and have plans to take over, are lead has to battle this massive horde.

The film has a cool story line and the action is pretty good and mostly realistic. I like the fact that are lead has this issue that he wakes up still thinking he is a kid still in battle trying to protect the king. When the action starts this guy is pretty bad ass and he puts everything into the fight. The strategies they layout and implement are fun to see as well. Action wise the film brings it, with a 300 type vibe. Tons of sword action. The film doesn’t skimp on story and drama. Acting wise it seemed pretty good. I viewed this in the Dubbed version.

Overall I thought the film was a good watch. Only down turn for me is I wanted to feel the pain more when are lead losses some people who are pretty close to him. Perhaps a little more screen time showing the relationship between them would have been better and would have given me the more sad feelings I should have gotten during that scene. Other than that I can’t find too much negatives to bring down this film. Maybe more development to the bad guys.

With that said I give this film a 4 out of 5 stars as I enjoyed this film. I know this film gets medium reviews but for me I liked it more. I say if you like battle movies that involves swords, shields, strategizing and a lead that is bad-ass but still human, I say give this one a shot. I think it’s a film I will pop in the Blu-Ray player again for a revisit.
