The sound Quality in the film is pretty good highs and good lows to keep the floors rumbling during explosions.
Video

The video Quality is really good with deep vibrant colors, blacks are solid black and the detail and sharpness of everything is very good.
The CGI was good as well but some spots they could have taken more time to make it look more realistic.

My Thoughts |
The Last Tycoon for me was a great movie with Chow Yun-fat returning to his gun play. Only thing missing were the two white doves but you know different director.
The film is filled with action, from knife fights to bombs to gun fights in between crowds. Yes it has the action but I also I enjoyed the story. The story takes you back and forth from the past to the present throughout the film. The actor playing Chow Yun-fat, Xiaoming Huang did a great job acting and not only that, the man looks just like Chow Yun-fat when he was younger.
Chow Yun-fat was great in the film, his acting was really good when it had to be and of course its fun watching CYF (haha) throw down some Bullets. The whole over all experience was fun and sad, with the film not just about action but its drama, a love story, political, gangster. The only thing it didn’t have was comedy but it wasn’t really needed.
The film looks really good on Blu-Ray with great sound to rumble your floors and I recommend this film , especially on Blu-Ray. How can you not like Chow Yun-fat and guns. Granted it’s not huge shoot em up film like his past films, This has story to it. Check it out
I give The last Tycoon a 4.5 out of 5
