In 1976, during the hottest summer on record, “Star Wars” was shot in suburban North London. Nobody involved had any idea how big the film would become and many couldn’t even remember the title. Yet, for the extras and actors in smaller roles, their faces hidden in masks and helmets, this seemingly insignificant job would go on to color their lives even four decades later. “Elstree 1976” is a portrait of a cross-section of these people; from the man inside the most iconic villain in film history to the guy whose character was completely cut from the final film. It tells the stories of their lives and explores the eccentric community they have formed while traveling the world and signing autographs for fans.

Elstree 1976 is a Documentary on the less Known cast and Crew who worked on Star Wars. The Docu Focuses on each Actor before Star Wars, During and After. We also get what they think about Star Wars what its like to work on set and only being a background actor / Extra.

The Film was an Interesting view and I thought it was enjoyable as we get to see a more inside view and opinion on the film. Filled with good interviews and information about the film along with is bloopers and portions when some one felt wronged on set. Other cool portions would be the Darth Vader section with the real actor playing the role and speaking the lines before he was dubbed over.

Overall the Docu was a fun watch and I feel if you’re a Star Wars fan you should pick this up and give it a shot. Given it does get mediocre reviews but it’s definitely better than that.

With that said I Give Elstree 1976 a 4 out of as it’s an interesting watch filled with cool moments about the background and extra actors who thought the film wasn’t going to be big at the time.
