Film Synopsis

Music makes the voices stop. That’s what Jim (Jake Hoffman) wants most – to hide away in his apartment, mixing original dubstep beats as a soundtrack to the insanity of daily life.

But it’s not working too well lately. His brother (Thomas Dekker) bullies him into pursuing social worker Wendy (Nikki Reed), and their intimate encounter sparks an obsession that turns Jim into a human time bomb.

Also starring Scott Bakula, Jason Priestley, and Gina Rodriguez, ENTER THE DANGEROUS MIND is a terrifying study of mental illness, and the destruction unleashed when you finally SNAP. – Well Go USA

My Thoughts

Enter the Dangerous Mind is a Physiological thriller that is dark and gritty at times. The film is about a guy who has Physiological problems via voices in his head and has that Fight Club vibe with that voice in the head being a visible person. The film is loaded with Dubstep Music as the main character creates the music to help drown out the voices in his head.

The story is good and I like the Filming style as it gets gritty. But at times the film seems small or slow, maybe due to the amount of actors and a lot of scenes are just the main character in his room fighting/listening to the voice in his head.

Overall The film is a good watch and will make you feel depressed and down and maybe I have voices in my head. I feel the film may not be for everyone. Some reviews give it harsh ratings and think the acting sucks. I feel the acting is good and the slow awkward talking of the Main Actor fits the role as he is supposed to be messed up. He is playing that kind of guy who doesn’t talk much and is that skitso creepy pop up out of nowhere guy. The ending gets a little gory with a small twist that is reveled by mouth before the visual happens.

Side-note: The music that the Main character is creating has Audio clips from a news report that happens to be the news report at the end of the film and the track can be heard during the end credits which I left running as I type this review. Perhaps there is a deeper meaning or a twist I’m not getting or maybe its really nothing. You tell me if you Watch it.

With that said I say give the film a shot if anything stream it/rent it. I give the film a 3.5 out of 5

Note: I Know my speakers are way outdated. OPPO Blu-Ray Player is one of the best around and used in most home theaters. The Receiver is pretty good but on the line of out dated. Subwoofer is good with tons of bass but not the theater quality from a $400 Sub. Front speakers are fun with tons of power and are good for standalone’s but higher end sound (Hz) is lower quality. Overall I need to update on all speakers granted I do get decent sound out of them just the higher end falls short.
