My Thoughts |
Masks is a Horror Mystery with psychedelic tones that some what runs the lines of an Italian Giallio. Are main lead is looking to become an Actor on the stage but she finds here self getting turned down until some one give here a card to a school that can help. But within this school we have some evil people who like to drink the blood of the emotional.
The Story is OK but at times felt like it wasn’t going places. Acting was good, filled with good realistic gory moments and nudity but again I wish we had more death and more nudity. The film has a psychedelic tone as are lead is fed drugs to help bring her emotions out while being thought how to act on stage. Camera work is fun and Stylistically its fun, the film also slowly turns into a more artistic toned film with its imagery. The film runs slow at times and feels like a low-budget film but as time moves forward you forget that feeling as you do fall in to the film as it become more interesting. I just wished it was a tad more dark.
Overall the film was a good watch that may be a miss or a hit but if you like films that showcase artistic imagery with a psychedelic tones at times you may enjoy this film. Horror aspect is there but not deep. We do have a jumpy moment or two.
With that said I Give Masks a 3.5 out of 5. Some small cuts, more nudity, gore and blood and we could have a little bit better film. Give it a shot.
