An eye-opening documentary exploring the world of human suspension which challenges the perceptions and squeamishness of even the most hardened viewer. ‘On Tender Hooks looks at the body modification and suspension community without judgement and director Shenton – in the spirit of Nick Broomfield – places herself in the film and participates in a session. In terms of intensity, On Tender Hooks knocks seven bells out of most horror films. Whether you think it’s disgusting or intriguing, the film is a fascinating look at a subculture many will find bizarre, even frightening – MVDvisuals

My Thoughts |
On Tender Hooks is a Documentary Filmed by Kate Shenton on the Lifestyle of Suspension meaning Placing Hooks through your skin and Hanging in Suspension. With a Run time of 70 Minutes this Documentary follows a Few who Want to try and or run a company that Specializes in Suspension.
There is a good amount of screaming, blood and Skin pulling involved so I wouldn’t recommend this to those who maybe squeamish. But for those who may like gore and stretching of skin or just want a little shook I would say Check it out.
I feel the Documentary is an OK Watch and I did learn some things. While;e watching I had a few Questions on the Medical / Safety Side and all that was covered later on which was nice. What you will find while viewing this DVD is People being pierced by Hooks in various places and Hung in various positions and at time swinging while Suspended which gets a Little frightening. The craziest part was When a guy attached 6 Rods into his back and Jumped off a Bridge to Bungee just from the hooks in his skin as he slams up in down. Ouch…..
This Documentary Does have some female nudity during a part where a few people are performing with tons of piercing and crazy looking costumes. The Documentary Ends with the Intro, Kate Shenton talking about the film and what is to come and ends with her trying out Suspension.
Overall I would say Give it a shot if your into what I just explained. For me I love gore but not the pulling of skin lol. You may get freaked out some and even this one guy with a ton of piercings in his face was freaked out by it lol.
I give the Documentary a 2.5 out of 5 for the information learned.
