The Sound Quality and Picture Quality are about the same in viewing. The film is a Tad better than the DVD counterpart but not re-mastered from a Master. The picture holds quality but it shows its date , no pixelations. Sound is on the same level with its 2.0 mix. It needs a boost in the thick department.

My Thoughts

Prefontaine is a Based on a True Story film of a Middle and Long Distant runner who losses his life at an early age. This one of I think 3 films on Steve Prefontaine making this the 2nd which boast star power. The story itself was a good one starting the film off in a Documentary style as we roll through the life of Steve from a Youngster in Middle school to his life after Collage post Olympic era.

The way the film is shot is a tad outdated now but for me as my first viewing it hold up. The ending could have been better as for some reason I wanted the film to make feel something, I wanted to tear up. But some how it missed me except when one of his team mates talks about Steve betting him again. I also wish we could have gotten real footage at the end of Steve Prefontaine. Acting wise it was pretty good with Jared Leto taking the Helm as Main and R. Lee Ermey along with Ed O’neill getting good screen time.

Overall Prefontaine was a good view, as I said before this is my first time viewing this film and I’ve never seen the other films based on Prefontaine. Yes the film could use a little bit of work but overall it’s a great watch.

With that said I give Prefontaine a 4 out of 5 as the film boasts good acting and decent story telling. Just missing the sad moment for me at the end.

Note: I Know my speakers are way outdated. OPPO Blu-Ray Player is one of the best around and used in most home theaters. The Receiver is pretty good but on the line of out dated. Subwoofer is good with tons of bass but not the theater quality from a $400 Sub. Front speakers are fun with tons of power and are good for standalone’s but higher end sound (Hz) is lower quality. Overall I need to update on all speakers granted I do get decent sound out of them just the higher end falls short.
