About:

The United States gave motorcycle-mad cinemagoers Easy Rider, The Wild One and The Wild Angels. The United Kingdom gave them Psychomania, the tale of zombie bikers run amok is southern England.

The Living Dead are a delinquent biker gang, fond of causing havoc on British roadways and making out in graveyards. Gang leader Tom (Nicky Henson) also has a Satanist for a mother, and when he discovers the secret of immortality, the name of his motley crew takes on a more literal meaning…

Directed by Hammer veteran Don Sharp (The Kiss of the Vampire, The Devil-Ship Pirates) and co-starring Beryl Reid (Dr. Phibes Rises Again) and George Sanders (Village of the Damned), Psychomania is a wonderfully offbeat gem, outlandish and eccentric in equal measure.

My Review:

Psychomania is a Biker film that revolves around Living dead and coming back to life after death. The lead Biker Gang member believes in Life after death so He does the unthinkable, He kills himself. In order to Come back you have to believe that you will come back before taking your life. Once the other members see that this is a real thing they all go out and kill them selves through out the film so they all can come back unstoppable.

The Film is Kind of dark but not a Horror film. It’s like a Biker movie with a hint of Zombie. The story is a fun follow but it’s not a big one and there is not much Character build up. We don’t get gore, nor do we see any Nudity. The film also kind of has a Clockwork Orange feel to it as in the youth going around breaking the law. At one point I thought the whole thing might be in side this girls head. This girl is part of the gang but she is the one that doesn’t want to kill her self. The Picture Quality looks pretty good same for the Sound as it does sound good for an Older film.

Overall the film was I a good watch and I can see where the film may not appeal, It’s a Cult Classic and if you like dark films dealing with Suicide, Youth crime, Bikes and a or a Collector of Arrow Films then pick this one up.

With that said I give this film a 3 out of 5. If the story had more texture more character building and dove deeper into the magic of coming back to life I would have liked it more. Kits still good viewing. Check it out.
