Everyone s heard of inferior American remakes of European films, but this is a real twist: a superior European (Dutch) remake of an English-language (British) film that even improves on the original! RECKLESS [BLOEDLINK] is a riveting retelling of a story first explored in the 2009 thriller THE DISAPPEARANCE OF ALICE CREED, but director Joram Lürsen’s new version is even more stylish, sexually charged, and tightly wound than its source of inspiration. Laura Temming wakes up to find herself bound to a bed in a sound-insulated vacant apartment. Two masked men strip the clothes from her body, place her in a track suit, and take photos that will be used to obtain ransom money from Laura s wealthy father. As the clock ticks, Laura discovers that she may have a relationship with one of the kidnappers that she never expected…and that the two men may have a relationship with each other that no one could have expected. With more twists than one could imagine, RECKLESS is ingeniously seductive.- Artsploitation Films

The Sound Quality is pretty good for DVD. No distortions that I can hear.

Rating: 3.5 stars

Picture Quality

Disc Format: DVD

The Picture Quality is good at times for DVD Sharp on close-ups but more smooth and dull on distant faces. Colors are OK and are more on the dull side but not to bad.

My Thoughts

Reckless aka Bloedlink opens up with two guys setting up an apartment with furniture and the odd thing that pops us they bolt down the bed and put plastic under the sheets which is smart when you find out why they did it. These two guys also black out the windows on a van and go off to kidnap some woman who they cuff to the bolted down bed.

The movie is smart in the way of teaching us about some of the things to do when kidnapping but as the title gives away, things get reckless and things go down hill as one of the kidnappers start getting suspicious of the other and that he might mess up things before they get their money. The movie is slow with small mount of action and it does feature female and male nudity. Plot wise its OK, we stay inside of the apartment most of the time with no interaction or visibility of the parents of the victim and or the exchanging and or communication between the kidnappers and parents they are trying to get money from. One thing I don’t understand is how does the more warmhearted Kidnapper think its going to end while getting involved with the Victim or is there a twist? a turn? a change to the plot’s matrix? Who dies? And does some how Rick Moranis make an appearance? You just have to watch and find out lol.

Overall the move was a decent watch but was a bit slow. Boobs are a great view but I thing we get more Dong action for those who are interested lol. The film is a bit gritty and acting wise it was good.

With that said I give the movie a 3 out of 5 for bringing us a different view of Kidnapping, granted we only get 3 actors with in the whole film. I say give it a shot and if you can find it for rent check it out.

Note: I Know my speakers are way outdated. OPPO Blu-Ray Player is one of the best around and used in most home theaters. The Receiver is pretty good but on the line of out dated. Subwoofer is good with tons of bass but not the theater quality from a $400 Sub. Front speakers are fun with tons of power and are good for standalone’s but higher end sound (Hz) is lower quality. Overall I need to update on all speakers granted I do get decent sound out of them just the higher end falls short.
