The sound quality is OK but not good. We get a good bit of Clipping which leads to distortion throughout the film

Picture Quality

Disc Format: DVD

The picture quality is good for DVD, great sharpness on close-ups but we do get more of a dull effect in color but at times colors do pop. No Pixelation but Distant shots on faces results in blurriness

My Thoughts

The Horror Network is a mix of short horror films by different directors. At times the story’s can go strange like the twilight zone and others are more jumpy type films. About an hour in we get some nudity in the Spanish short, which for me was a good short not because of the nudity but it gets brutal and gory. Five total short films all in which are decent to good.

The first Short is all about the Jump scare which the sound track try a ton of times to scare you. The 2nd film is more of a Psych like short dealing with two actors, one who can’t sleep and one who unleashes the demon in side his patient. The 3rd short is about a def girl who is being followed and chased down after school but ends up feeling like a twilight zone type of short as the guy chasing her down …well I wont give it away. The 4th short is more creepy, gory and has a more horror / Psycho element being played out within the main characters mind. The 5th short bring it to the serial killer plot with a guy and a male teen, its creepy and dialogue is very minimal and shot more art house style but in all honesty I wished the 5th short would go deeper into the horror genre with more gore and monsters as all the short films seem to be leading up to the more horror aspect. But hey the 5th film is pretty freaky and I can see that happening as it feel realistic. All in all the film isn’t scary besides the score that try’s to get you in the first short.

overall the Movie or should I say the mixture of short films was good watch. I wish the sound was better on the clipping end of things. All the shorts were good with the each one getting better as the film goes on but I have to say the 4th short film was pretty cool and My favorite of the 5. If your into horror shorts that get weird at times and more on the low-budget side I would give this a check.

With that said I give this film of 5 shorts a 3.5 out of 5. Give it a shot if you like short horror films dealing with the subjects I listed above.

Note: I Know my speakers are way outdated. OPPO Blu-Ray Player is one of the best around and used in most home theaters. The Receiver is pretty good but on the line of out dated. Subwoofer is good with tons of bass but not the theater quality from a $400 Sub. Front speakers are fun with tons of power and are good for standalone’s but higher end sound (Hz) is lower quality. Overall I need to update on all speakers granted I do get decent sound out of them just the higher end falls short.
