My Thoughts |
The Neon Dead is a Low Budget Horror Film Dealing with the walking dead that use to be enslaved years ago but now roam free under no command until the story of what is going on was found. All of what is going on coincides in one house in the basement of a Female college grades home. She Hires two paranormal exterminators to help out who by the way work in a Video Store and are around the same age as are Collage Grad. A Battle of the living and the colorful dead or demons unravels on-screen in Horror and Action.
The Story itself is OK and Acting isn’t that great. The Film is pretty low-budget but it has what most Low Budget films don’t have is decent Effects using dots and computers to overlay crazy looking monster faces onto of are walking dead. The film also deals with a lot of colors. Are monsters have very neon colorful looks with glowing eyes neon like blood. Horror aspect is OK but not scary at all, but as an old-school no budget horror film with effect go’s its decent and worth a shot.
Overall the film was just an OK viewing and for me a One time deal. Depending on your taste in films and or if your into low-budget and just want to have a little fun or inspiration on making your own piece, I would give it a shot. The monsters / demons / walking dead look pretty cool thanks to the FX Artists turned Directors.
With that said I Give The Neon Dead a 2.5 out of 5. Give it a go. Yes very cheap but it still has that tech factor and the whole Neon color thing that makes things a little new to horror. Give the 80 Minutes a roll. The film does get medium rated Reviews like mine which I feel is pretty good for what it is.
