“Potent and poetic, mischievous and macabre, Borowczyk’s film shows how many imaginative worlds the horror movie can open up when the right artist holds the keys” (Nigel Andrews, Financial Times)

It’s the engagement party for brilliant young Dr Henry Jekyll (Udo Kier) and his fiancée, the beautiful Fanny Osbourne (Marina Pierro), attended by various pillars of Victorian society, including the astonishing Patrick Magee in one of his final roles. But when people are found raped and murdered outside and ultimately inside the house, it becomes clear that a madman has broken in to disrupt the festivities – but who is he? And why does Dr Jekyll keep sneaking off to his laboratory?

We know the answer, of course, but Walerian Borowczyk’s visually stunning adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s much-filmed tale is crammed with wildly imaginative and outrageously perverse touches characteristic of the man who scandalised audiences with Immoral Tales and The Beast, not least the explicitly sexualised nature of Mr Hyde’s primal urges. – ArrowFilms

The Sound is good with the french version a little more bassy then the English or maybe the English is a little thinner. Both are in Mono and sound good but not 5 star Great.

Picture Quality

Disc Format: Blu-Ray

Overall the Film looks good, sharp but also Soft at times. The film also has its Original grain with no to Very little artifacts like damaged film or spots. Colors pop but I feel the Red on that Generals gear is too red and it looses its sharpness.

My Thoughts

The Strange Case Of Dr Jekyll And Miss Osbourne Opens up with a Little girl Being chased buy an Older Man, Trapped in an Alleyway, he then beats the shit out of her with his cane until she is dead. Proceeds to tear her cloths as if he was going to rape. What the Hell just Happened here lol, Pretty Crazy Opening I would say.

More Weird and Crazy pop ups during a dinner where flashes of violence pop up like flashbacks or flash-forwards randomly while everyone is talking, like someone getting stabbed and a Porn Like sex Scene hits out of no where. The film has a decent amount of Nudity in this Period Horror Slasher Film. The Acting is B rated and at times slow and Confusing.

Over all The film was a good watch but I can see where others may not like it. It’s just beyond weird and its Confusing, but I feel most will have it all worked out by the time the end hits. The Ending is just out there with Cool Cutting and camera work with a score that makes even more creepy

With that said I give The Strange Case Of Dr Jekyll And Miss Osbourne a 3.5 out of 5. Check it out for its Weirdness and Porn Like Sex Clips.

Note: I Know my speakers are way outdated. OPPO Blu-Ray Player is one of the best around and used in most home theaters. The Receiver is pretty good but on the line of out dated. Subwoofer is good with tons of bass but not the theater quality from a $400 Sub. Front speakers are fun with tons of power and are good for standalone’s but higher end sound (Hz) is lower quality. Overall I need to update on all speakers granted I do get decent sound out of them just the higher end falls short.
