My Review:

Witchtrap is a Horror Film Dealing with a Ghost whom was a Warlock. This Dark soul is killing those who come to his house which is now a bed and breakfast. A Team of Scientists / Mediums whom can contact spirits set out to stop it with a device that traps the soul …Like Ghostbusters.

The story is small and not much building involved but we do get some back story on one of the girls on how she got her medium power to let souls use her body. We get gore and a few death spots Also some Nudity. At first I thought we were going to get some cool camera work like Evil Dead as at the start of the film we get some cool camera work just like it but after that scene it was the normal stuff. The Story was OK but not the greatest. Acting wise was pretty low too and some of the dialogue and actions in the film that were meant not to be funny…well was funny

Overall the film was an OK watch. The stand out for this release was how good it looked and sounded on Blu-Ray. Vinegar Syndrome did a great job with the film. I know the film has a nice following if your due for an upgrade this is it. For me its my first viewing and I would think it would have been a better viewing if I had watch this film back when I was younger. It’s not a bad film as it still held my attention but sometimes the acting was just robotic at times. We do get some cool gore shots with piratical effects. The film is low Budget but still stands like it’s not or just over low-budget in the way it looks and how its shot at times.

With that said I give Witch Trap a 3 out of 5 thinks to its gory piratical effects. Give this a shot if you like 80s and 90s Horror . I might fit your taste
