My Thoughts |
Cross (Smile for Me) is a film about a guy going around doing Gods work so Simon Yam’s Character is telling the police. What that means is he is killing people, Is it bad Folk? People that don’t deserve to die? No It’s those who want to die. Yam Plays A sympathetic serial killer taking out those who want to die by suicide for the reason he is doing this is because suicide is a sin and he is just helping them die while still being able to get into heaven.
The movie starts off with Yam turning himself in for the murders and not just because of that but because he failed one of his murders. The film has good gore like some one getting stabbed in the neck with a pen and or a drill bit to the back of the head. He finds his victims though a website (Forum) for those who want to learn how to Commit suicide. The story takes off from there as the police read his story victim after victim. We get a twist and turn in the plot but overall the film runs slow with the movie going down hill the farther it gets through its time line.
Overall I would say this was just an OK viewing as it feel incomplete. I liked the whole Idea of the film but I feel it wasn’t done in the potential it could have had. Perhaps South Korea could have flipped this and created a great film.
With that said I give the film a 2 out of 5 as I did like the premises and the gore / Kills but it was slow with an incomplete feeling to it and maybe it’s because it took 3 years to make with 4 different directors to Complete.
