Horror master Wes Craven achieved critical and commercial success with the likes of Scream and A Nightmare on Elm Street but for many genre fans, the director s seminal 1977 effort The Hills Have Eyes remains his masterpiece.
Taking a detour whilst on route to Los Angeles, the Carter family run into trouble when their campervan breaks down in the middle of the desert. Stranded, the family find themselves at the mercy of a group of monstrous cannibals lurking in the surrounding hills. With their lives under threat, the Carters are forced to fight back by any means necessary.
As gruelling a viewing experience today as it was upon initial release, The Hills Have Eyes stands alongside the likes of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Night of the Living Dead as one of the defining moments in American horror cinema.

| My Thoughts |
The Hills have Eyes is a Horror film about Mutated Inbred-ed Folk in the hills hunting down some passer by’s as they are running out of food.
The Story is slightly different then the remake as that’s the one I’ve seen first. No Nuclear testing here also the Inbreeds are not that spooky looking. The film gets down to business not that far into the time line with some gore, rape and screaming. Not much of a character build up but acting wise its decent.
Overall it was nice to see the Original and it was still a good viewing. I do prefer the Hill People in the remake more due to the science behind it and more creepy looking. The Film was still a good view just wished it was a tad more spooky and more mystery on the hill folk.
With that said I give The Hills Have Eyes a 3.5 out of 5. Love horror check out the Original. The Film has a good Following but an overall rating of the film is about medium from most places. I liked it a tad more.
