My Thoughts

Police Story: Lockdown is the return of Jackie Chan Playing a Cop. The film has that Jackie feel when it comes to action and his stunt work but it is limited on those factors. We also have a few shootouts but what lacks is the story. The Story is just OK with flashbacks and storyline that comes together at the end through Other persons Views. The Film Is more of an action drama and try’s to pull your tear strings in the film.

Jackie I think did a good job in the acting and action, along with the small amount of stunt work. Cant blame the amount of stunts as Jackie is an older guy now and I would take a small amount of stunt work over Jackie using a Stunt double.I a read a lot of reviews and most hated that stunts were minimal but come one, Dude is a lot older now. The film has a darker feel to it then the other Police Story’s as it try’s to be more gritty. What lacks is the comedy and fun that the other films brought which may make Police Story fans feel a tad disappointed. For Me I don’t Mind As I thought it was still a good movie to watch with Jackie bringing more acting to the table here. Also He sings at the end of the film which was pretty good-by the way. I Also Feel if I heard that the film is more gritty and dramatic I would have come out at the end of the film with a an extra half star or so. So If your reading this……Its not a full-out action , fun Comedy. Hope that helps you enjoy the film more, You can thank below in the comment section or even tell you liked it or hated it.

Yes I say it’s not Up to Par with other Police Story Films and I would even say its more of its own film than part of that franchise. But by saying this I don’t say it’s a bad film as it was still a good view and also was nice to see Jacky back on the Screen. I Wished they would have taken the film more dark and gritty in tone with less dialogue. Jackie Has a few Fight Scenes and if my Memory stands it was three different Fight Scenes. In A Typical Jackie Chan Movie you have outtakes during the credits which has all the comedy and a few stunts gone wrong takes which is always fun to watch.

Over all its a good film and With that said I give the film a 3.5 out of 5. Give it a shot, pick it up or rent it.

Note: I Know my speakers are way outdated. OPPO Blu-Ray Player is one of the best around and used in most home theaters. The Receiver is pretty good but on the line of out dated. Subwoofer is good with tons of bass but not the theater quality from a $400 Sub. Front speakers are fun with tons of power and are good for standalone’s but higher end sound (Hz) is lower quality. Overall I need to update on all speakers granted I do get decent sound out of them just the higher end falls short.

  1. This was a I’ll film. Its a stand alone from the others and tho not much action I like seeing Jackie in modern style films. I gave it 2.5 out of 5. Not a classic by a long shot
