Audio
Audio Format(s): Mandarin, English Dub
Subtitles: English, Spanish, French
Audio sounds great overall along with the sound effects, the dubbing could be a bit better as some battle scenes the vocals sometimes have a too much reverb sound.
The Subtitles are good but at one spot at the end if you were watching the Dubbed version, at the end Chinese Written pop up explaining what happens after the film and no Subtitles show up so you will have to turn on subtitles during that part.

The overall look of the film is great looking. Pretty sharp and the colors pop when colors show up. The blacks are smooth and no noise.

My Thoughts |
Saving General Yang is a Based on a True Story battle film with large combat scenes that shrink in size the deeper in the movie you go to were the last action scene is just a one on one.
Overall the film was a fun watch with some great battles and a death scene were I blurted out OOH. The scene had a war of the arrows feel with two guys battling each other with Bows and the guy who wins gets a Point Blank arrow shot to the other guys Head, Pretty cool. Basically the story is about a family who get betrayed in battle and they have to fend for themselves. 7 brothers of Try to save There Father and bring Him Back home while sacrificing them selves to bring back the corpse of what was their father so they can send him back to his wife / their mother.
Yes the film was fun and great but there are some down sides. The Plot in some spots I knew was coming, and The Cgi could be better or even just cut in some spots but it’s not that bad compared to other films. Some of the cuts at the being were weird as it would skip to a scene abruptly leaving the viewer (Me) kinda figuring out what happen after the scene was done, That only happen once. One shot was not needed and was just shaky and dint fit, that was when the camera was looking at the backs of two brother on a horse in a shaky style, This is me just nit-picking now.
At the end of it all I Enjoyed the film and its cool battle / fight scenes. The Plot kinda had a Shaw Brother feel to it with the not naming of the brothers in the family and just calling them Brother 1, brother 2, and so on.
I recommend this film if you like Large Action Battle scenes with swords and other weapons with a story that based on a true one. Also You have to get this film just due to that Point Blank Range Head Shot with An arrow.
