hen Wo-Fu plays construction worker Ku Ting, whose skill at “tai chi” (shadow boxing) is as great as his pacifism. But when his girlfriend is raped by vicious gangsters, he shows everyone the true power and beauty of tai chi.
| My Thoughts |
This is a Shaw Brothers Production who Yuen Woo-Ping was the action director. The film is about a student to the style of Tai Chi Who was taught not to use the style to fight but only for defense and health. This lasted thorough most of the film he didn’t fight but took the beatings.
The Plot is a revenge story with a decent amount of action scenes but more wouldn’t hurt. Some of the action was slowed down i guess to show us the moves. The Lead role was played by Chen Yung-Yu His Last film as he Died right before the film was released. He was also a real Life champion.
With that said I wish the action was more authentic to the style it was based on some fights were a little iffy as you could tell the punch was to far away to connect and also the story seemed rushed some but what can you say most films in the 70′s pushed for 90 minutes of film.
Over all this a decent film but with my recent viewings of other kung fu films this film probably suffered in my rating judgement lol. I would love to Hear from the readers On this one…if you seen this film tell me what you think.
